Take care of the homefront first
Fence Post recently had a letter from Mr. Darst that to balance the budget would require cuts in military spending, changes in Social Security and Medicare and some government departments/agencies and tax increases.
Tax increases come out of my pocket. What makes people think I am an endless source of money? Any increase in my taxes means less for my family.
Why doesn’t anyone ever suggest cutting foreign aid? We gave $52.7 billion in 2010 to foreign countries. Why? It’s hard to get the true figures because of government hiding or changing the reporting. Most of these countries hate us. Let’s take care of the home folks first.
