Fire damages Naperville home

Naperville fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a Sunday night blaze that caused more than $150,000 in damage to a home.

A female resident of the home on the 1300 block of Frederick Lane rang the door bell at nearby Naperville fire station No. 8 at 5:59 p.m. reporting that her house was on fire, according to fire officials.

Responding firefighters reported moderate smoke coming from the attached garage and family room of the single-story ranch home and confirmed all the residents were out of the home before working to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters were forced to cut ventilation holes in the roof to release smoke and hot gases that had made their way into the attic space as the fire burned up the walls.

Crews brought the fire under control in less than 15 minutes, but crews remained on the scene for several hours checking for hot spots and cleaning up equipment, officials said.

The fire was mostly contained to the family room of the brick home, officials said.

The home was deemed uninhabitable.

No one was injured during the fire.
