Palatine’s Battle of the Badge race set for Saturday

The Battle of the Badge 5k and kids run to raise money for the Palatine Police and Fire Benevolent Association will kick off at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at Towne Square, Slade and Smith streets, in Palatine.

The event, which includes a kids race at 10 a.m., also benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The 5K course takes runners to the south side of Palatine and then back north to the reservoir hill on Quentin Road. The kids race, for ages 10 and under, is a one-lap run around Towne Square. All kid finishers receive a ribbon, while medals will be awarded to top finishers.
