LeSaint to oversee Transitions Optical distribution

PRNewswire

ROMEOVILLE — LeSaint Logistics said it will handle the distribution needs for lens technology company Transitions Optical Inc.

The Pinellas Park, Fla., manufacturer of photochromic lenses worldwide said it contracted with LeSaint because of its experienced and knowledgeable staff, skill with handling high volume inventory, expertise in inventory management and convenient proximity to Transitions Optical’s customers.

“It was critical from Transitions Optical’s point of view to focus on zero disruptions of delivery and fulfillment services to their customers,” says LeSaint’s Executive Vice President, Client Solutions, Dino Moler. “At LeSaint we focus on building solutions that are directly in line with our customers’ needs, we took several key steps to ensure deliveries and fulfillment went seamlessly from the beginning.”

Operating from its Fairfield, Ohio, facility, LeSaint now ships thousands of pieces per day throughout the world for Transitions Optical. The distribution operation spans 25,000 square feet. In developing a solution, LeSaint brought in existing personnel in Transitions Optical’s supply chain from the former provider, thus retaining their service familiarity and minimizing time required to implement training for a new team. This drastically reduced time needed for conversion and risk of customer service interruption.

“LeSaint acted with exceptional speed, completing our entire implementation within just 30 days. We praise LeSaint’s professionalism, swiftness and seamless conversion. Customer satisfaction is a focal point and commitment for our entire organization. LeSaint’s continuity of service during the distribution changeover was instrumental in maintaining that commitment,” says Jeff Endo, warehouse operations manager, Transitions Optical. “We are confident this new partnership will result in greater customer satisfaction and distribution excellence.”

Transitions Optical is a joint venture of PPG Industries, Inc. and Essilor International.
