Village of Lombard Partners with e-One to Replace Interior Exit Signs

The village of Lombard has partnered with e-One to offer businesses a program that will replace interior exit signs with new LED types that have an estimated payback period of only 10.8 months.

The LED lights last much longer than the existing incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, thereby saving maintenance costs and promoting safety. In addition, each sign replaced results in an estimated reduction of 3,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere over the life of the sign. The village's goal is to eliminate 1,000 signs by 2013, thereby resulting in a savings of three million pounds of carbon dioxide.

The cost is $99 per sign, minus a $20 rebate from ComEd. The cost includes installation by a licensed and insured electrician. Building owners can participate in the program by submitting a form that is available on the village's website, www.villageoflombard.org, under “Quick Links.”
