Free event planning showcase

Event planning experts will be on hand from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 29 during a free showcase at the Greenbelt Cultural Center in North Chicago. Visitors can tour the recently expanded facility and meet caterers, florists, photographers, DJs and event planners who can pull together your party. Food samples, entertainment, and decoration displays also are part of the event to advertise the rental possibilities. Greenbelt’s 4,460-square-foot Grand Woodland Hall features cathedral ceilings, a wall of windows with views of the surrounding forest preserve and a living plant wall. Renters can select their own caterer or bring in their own food. Alcohol is permitted. Greenbelt is at 1215 N. Green Bay Road.
