Why is roadwork needed so soon?
On my way home from work recently, I saw signs near Deerfield and the Lake Forest Oasis warning of upcoming roadwork. I checked the website of the Tollway Authority and found that the project is due to “pavement rehabilitation” being needed.
This road was recently completely rebuilt and widened. How can it possibly need “pavement rehabilitation” after such a short time?
I have no problem paying the tolls as I consider them a user fee, but is my money being wasted on either a poor reconstruction job or “pavement rehabilitation” that is not necessary? Can someone from the Toll Authority please explain this?
