Weekly progam to enforce safe driving in Rollign Meadows

Rolling Meadows police are starting a new safe driving enforcement program to focus their efforts on a particular street in town each week where neighbors have complained about speeding and other risky driving behavior.

Police said the new program, called “Street of the Week,” is in response to residents’ complaints about reckless driving in their neighborhoods and will encourage compliance with the posted speed limits and other traffic rules in the city. Each week patrol officers will focus on a location where residents have observed a prolonged pattern of unsafe driving in order to raise awareness encourage safer driving.

The Street of the Week schedule is as follows: The week of April 30 — the 2300 block of Campbell Street; week of May 7 — Owl Drive; week of May 14 — Fulle Street; week of May 21 — Wren Lane; week of May 28 — Campbell Street at School Drive; week of June 4 — Jay Lane; week of June 11 — Silent Brook Lane at Pebblebrook Lane; week of June 18 — Meadow Lane from School Drive to Campbell Street; week of June 25 — Central Road near Owl Lane; week of July 2 — Quentin Road; and week of July 9 — Plum Grove Drive.
