Cook County launches consolidated property tax website

Cook County residents now have a streamlined process to handle their property tax issues. The county Monday launched its new Property Tax Portal at cookcountypropertyinfo.com, a free website that combines information from various county offices into one unified site.

In the past, property owners who wanted to see property tax history had to visit up to six county office websites. Now, owners will get five years of history on a single screen.

The site also provides information including ownership, liens, payments, refunds, valuations, exemptions, appeals, prior bill statuses, delinquencies and TIF information. The assessor’s office, recorder of deeds and board of review worked with Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Treasurer Maria Pappas to provide data for the site.
