Bean's voting record not a moderate's

Melissa Bean would like us to believe she is a moderate, middle-of-the-road Democrat, but her voting record does not support that conclusion. She voted for the health care bill, and in a long two-page tome to her constituents justified the vote claiming the bill will “yield a significant federal deficit reduction of 1.3 trillion dollars, an absurd claim that has since been thoroughly discredited.

She voted for the new financial regulation bill even though it contained no provision to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which were the key causes of the housing collapse. She voted for the stimulus bill that has done nothing except run up the federal deficit even more. Perhaps the most egregious vote was for cap and trade, which if ever passed would be a dagger into the heart of our fragile economy.

I don't believe that these votes represent the views of a great majority of the citizens of the 8th District. Bean has to go.
