Editorial had the right appeal
We commend the Daily Herald’s opinion, “Let’s Respect Our System of Checks and Balances” on Sunday, April 8.
Your view expressed thoughtfulness and critical thinking which has too often been lacking in today’s news commentaries. In your examples, you used both sides of the issues to impress on your readers how necessary it is to decipher the topic and not just spout out words.
Too often, bias and prejudice are used as cover in support of opinions. One cannot be saddled with these, but needs to recognize that the more difficult questions of “how come,” “what if,” and “why” lead to a more positive reasoning and solution.
Thank you for “respecting checks and balances.”
