Don’t talk if you can’t be bothered to vote

Do they still teach Government or Civics in the local high schools? Do they teach the importance of voting? I have a suggestion for the various governing groups in Naperville. These would include the city council, park district, planning commission, etc.

When a citizen fills out their slip with their name and topic they wish to discuss, the secretary checks to see if they voted in the most recent election. If they have not, ask them to sit down because they really have shown no interest in their government until that time. I keep reading about our Utopian society in Naperville but it won’t remain that way long if we all don’t get out and vote. Twenty five percent is ridiculous.
