BAPS Chicago to celebrate 10 years
The Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates will host the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Chicago's 10th anniversary celebration from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7.
The event will be marked by theatrical performances, multimedia presentations, community appreciation, spiritual blessings and a kirtan aradhana. "The community and its leaders have been a backbone in the success of all our activities and programs," said Anil Barot, director of public relations. "Though the Cultural Complex was inaugurated 10 years ago, the profound sense of dedication and commitment from both the BAPS community and the local community has been prevalent from the beginning."
The Village of Bartlett and DuPage County have made proclamations in honor of BAPS' decade in Bartlett, and dignitaries expected to appear Saturday include state Sen. John Millner, state Rep. Randy Ramey, Bartlett Mayor Mike Kelly and Narendra Patel of Medstar Labs.
