American Legion honors Edward Hospital CEO Pamela Davis
American Legion Post 43 has selected Pamela Davis, chief executive officer of Naperville’s Edward Hospital, to receive the post’s annual Citizen of the Year Award. The award recognizes extraordinary service to the Naperville-area community or to the nation.
“Pamela has contributed mightily to the physical health of our community and, just as importantly, to the ethical health of the governing process in the state of Illinois,” said Priscilla Laubscher, a former senior naval officer who is commander of Naperville American Legion Post 43.
“In her more than 20-year tenure as CEO of Edward Hospital and Health Services, Pamela has transformed Edward Hospital into a highly respected regional medical center that is now ranked among the premier medical facilities in the entire United States,” Laubscher said.
“In addition, her legendary courage has provided ethical inspiration for every Illinoisan and has brought legal accountability to those who betray the public trust.”
Davis went to the FBI when the hospital was strong-armed for a bribe in response to its petition to build a facility in Plainfield. Her actions helped shed light on the corruption in the administration of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
