Zinn art work displayed in art exhibit at Waukegan Public Library
Lake County artist Laini Zinn will exhibit a collection of watercolors, paintings and prints from April 20 to June 10 at Gallery 128 in the Waukegan Public Library.
The gallery will host two after-hours receptions for the artist to coincide with Waukegan’s monthly ArtWauk events, April 21 and May 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. Each reception is free, open to the public, and includes complimentary refreshments.
A former art teacher and editor of the Lake County Arts Magazine, Zinn has practiced her craft for nearly seven decades.
Her collection is called “The Art of Community,” and includes more than 100 framed and unframed paintings and prints available for sale.
“My passion for art is a love of all of God’s beautiful creation, especially people young and old in all walks of life,” said Zinn.
The Waukegan Park District selected Zinn as the recipient of its Humanities and Arts Award in 1999 in consideration of her efforts to open community studios and gallery space, her work as editor of an arts magazine and her service on the board of Friends of the Jack Benny Cultural Arts Center.
Located within the Waukegan Public Library, Gallery 128 showcases collections of two and three-dimensional artwork of local artists.
