A good word for ?U of I’s Hogan

While I cannot speak to President Hogan’s relationship with the Illini faculty, I can speak about his excellent relationship with me, an alumni. Recently, I had published an article deciphering the scenes on the Hagia Triada Sarcophagus, a Minoan larnax. I had worked on this off and on for 40 years.

I sent a copy of the article and a letter to President Hogan and professors at UIUC and UIC. Dr Hogan was the only one to write me back and with an encouraging warm letter.

For a president of a top university, the U of I, to take the time out of his busy schedule to write an alumnus really speaks highly of him, in my book. I also wrote the president of another university I had attended and received back a letter from a secretary. In my opinion, the whole story about Dr. Hogan may not have come to light.
