$250,000 bail for Naperville man in porn case

Bail was set at $250,000 Thursday for a Naperville man accused of possessing child pornography, much of which involved children 3 and younger.

Christian G. Brown, 19, was being held in the DuPage County jail on two counts of aggravated child pornography possession.

Brown was arrested Wednesday after authorities searched his apartment on the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, Assistant State's Attorney Debora Brewer said.

She said Brown was sleeping in bed with his computer, or pretending to be sleeping, when police arrived. Investigators found more than 20 computer files and tapes containing child pornography.

“Many of the files were of children under the age of 3,” Brewer said.

Brown does not have a significant criminal history, Brewer said, but she asked Judge Neal Cerne for a $500,000 bail due to the seriousness of the charges and the ages of the victims.

Cerne ordered that Brown have no harmful or offensive contact with children should he post the $25,000 necessary to be released.
