Outlook: This nonconference affair will be the sixth meeting between these UEC rivals since 2006. The North Stars hold a 4-1 series lead. The Storm return all-UEC and All-Area senior quarterback John Menken (108-of-209, 1,412 yards, 14 TD), third-year running back Bradley Birchfield (137 att., 497 yards, 5 TD) and the majority of the defense. Their opponent will look quite familiar. The North Stars will be South Elgin's opponent for the third time in four outings dating back to late last season. The North Stars graduated every defensive starter and senior quarterback Jake Bergren will miss several games with a broken hand. "They'll be ready to go," South Elgin coach Dale Schabert said of the North Stars. "There's that proximity between the schools. The kids all know each other."
