Youth lacrosse program of South Elgin receives donation

On May 16, the Elgin Lodge 12 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows presented $1,100 to the South Elgin Patriots Lacrosse Youth Program.

Representing the Odd Fellows and presenting the donation is Noble Grand Nick Paxton. Representing the youth program is Eric Pollert. Also present in their uniforms are Jeremy Hildebrandt, Kyle Pollert and Dylan Mlinarich as well as Jeremy’s sister Kate. Members of Elgin Lodge 12 are, from left, Ron Paxton, Matt Gallois, Kevin Masters, Dan Blomgren, Don Blomgren, Larry Sitkewicz, Dave Martin, Dennis Huels, Ken Palikij, Mike Schultz, Chris Robinson, Larry Clavel and Jim Turner.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is privileged to be able to donate to this worthy cause. The Odd Fellows have been active in the Elgin area since 1849 when the first of four Lodges in Elgin was chartered; it has been continuously active in this community since then and currently finds its home in South Elgin. The mission of the South Elgin Patriots Youth program is to give the children of this area an opportunity to be involved in team sports, to provide them with the best possible equipment and facilities, and to teach them sportsmanship, discipline and dedication that will follow them through life while leaving them with an enjoyable and growing experience.
