Lake Zurich schools not raising fees at registration

Registration fees for Lake Zurich Community Unit District 95 will not increase for the 2011-2012 school year.

The school board voted unanimously Thursday to approve registration fees for the next school year without any changes, although some had been proposed earlier.

An earlier proposal to increase the yearbook fee and the transcript fee were removed before the meeting.

“We've talked with the high school representatives and we'll make a few modifications in the yearbook to keep the costs down,” said Jeff King, assistant superintendent for business and operations.

The board also briefly considered raising the cost of transcripts from $3 to $10 to help finance software for college bound students, but nixed the idea.

“We'll be able to find alternate ways to finance that purchase,” King said.

King said they don't have an estimate yet on lunch fees, but by February the board will be able to discuss food service companies and have lunch fee prices decided by spring.

Class registration fees are discounted up to $25 off if payments are received before May 16, 2011.
