Fish in place for Hoffman Estates derby
The Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce fishing derby, which it says is the largest in the state, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at South Ridge Lake 1450 Freeman Road in Hoffman Estates.

This year, there's a second fishing derby in the Northwest suburbs this weekend. Sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Timothy Schneider, a Bartlett Republican, and Cabela's, it runs from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Busse Woods Grove 25 south of Higgins Road between Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village.
