Scouting: UIC @ Loyola

UIC (5-14, 0-7) at Loyola (11-8, 2-6)

When: 3 p.m. at Gentile Center

TV: Lakeshore (Channel 56)

Radio: WMVP 1000-AM, WAUR 930-AM, WNTD 950-AM, WWCA 1260-AM

The skinny: The Flames have won just one game since November (hello, Illinois), which might suggest they really bring it when they face in-state foes. This series tends to run in cycles. UIC won all five games during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, but Loyola swept last year's pair. The Ramblers hope their depth gets to the Flames. Nobody averages more than 30 minutes per game at Loyola, but Robo Kreps (37.5 mpg) and Paul Carter (33.2 mpg) are carrying an even heavier load in the wake of Zavion Neely's academic ineligibility. Kreps, by the way, needs just 8 points to get to 1,400 for his career.
