Former Buffalo Grove manager Brimm joins water commission

The Cook County Board on Wednesday appointed former Buffalo Grove Village Manager William Brimm to the Northwest Water Commission.

Based in Des Plaines, the commission provides water to Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Palatine and Wheeling.

Brimm will serve a six-year term on the five member panel, whose members are not paid for their service.

“I’m glad to be back with the water commission and representing the county,” said Brimm, who previously served on the commission when he was village manager. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, and it’s nice to be going back.”

Brimm began his long career with Buffalo Grove in 1978, when he was hired as finance director. In 2006, he succeeded longtime Village Manager William Balling. He retired in 2010.

“We’re thrilled that Bill is on board with us,” said the commission’s executive director, John DuRocher. “He brings decades of financial acumen to the commission and will be serving as our treasurer.”
