Thanks to those who bought books

Christmas has been boxed up and packed away for another year, but I’m sure that the books purchased at Barnes & Noble during the Million Books for A Million Children Holiday Book Drive are still being opened by parents and their children.

We want to thank Barnes & Noble and the customers who purchased books for this year’s drive. Books were distributed to our adult students who were encouraged to read the books with their children.

Because of your generosity, we were also able to distribute books to The Salvation Army, Lazarus House, St. Charles Community School District 303, Batavia School District 101, Valley View Head Start, Kane County Adult Justice Center for the children’s book shelf, Elgin Crisis Center, CASA, St. Charles Public Library for at-risk children and the Illinois Youth Center.

Together, we are working hard to help local children have more access to books, increasing literacy and learning in the Tri-City area.
