Beckman adds Bellamy to Illini football staff

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois head football coach Tim Beckman has added former Illini all-American receiver Mike Bellamy to his staff as assistant director of player personnel and relations.

Bellamy was a second-team All-American as a kick returner and a first-team All-Big Ten receiver in 1989 after leading the Illini in kickoff return yards and receiving yards. In his new position, Bellamy will coordinate all former player events, assist with on-campus recruiting and recruiting mailings, help coordinate the annual Illinois high school coaching clinic and coordinate all functions with Block I, fraternities and sororities.
