The Academy Is highlights Arboretum events

A rare acoustic performance by William Beckett, lead singer of nationally acclaimed rock band The Academy Is ..., will highlight the holiday-themed festivities Saturday at the Alexian Brothers Skating Plaza in the Arboretum of South Barrington.

Beckett will perform at 5 p.m., topping a day that will feature public skating beginning at 10 a.m., the arrival of Santa Claus at 11 a.m. and free horse-drawn sleigh rides.

The Arboretum of South Barrington is located at 100 W. Higgins Road.
