Man robbed on street in Elgin

A man walking down the street was robbed at gunpoint Sunday near Hill Avenue and Enterprise Street in Elgin, police said.

The man said he was walking south on Hill at 7:10 p.m. when he was passed by a late 1980s or early 1990s model white Chevrolet Blazer. He noted the vehicle had a loud muffler.

The truck turned around, passed him again, and two men got out and pointed a black semiautomatic handgun to the back of his head, according to the report.

The men demanded he give them his phone and wallet, and he complied. The robbers got back into the truck and drove off eastbound on Enterprise, the report said.

They are described as Hispanic males, approximately 18 to 20 years old, and wore black hooded jackets, black masks and dark jeans.
