Faerie Festival Aug. 3, 4 in S. Elgin is family friendly

Submitted by World of Faeries Festival

The World of Faeries Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Vasa Park, off Route 31, 5 miles north of Silver Glen Road in South Elgin. It will be held rain or shine.

Now in its ninth year, this year the festival celebrates “Steampunk.”

They encourage everyone to come dressed to fit the “fantasy” theme and enter the park in the spirit of magic and leave your “grown up” at home. This is a family-oriented event with lots for children and families to do.

There will be a vendor village and music all weekend, fairy tea parties, visiting falcons and a visit from “Illustre” Classical Horse Training Exhibit and free raffle giveaways. See website for more information, entertainment, merchants and schedule. Discounts also available online.

Admission is $11, $8 for seniors, and free for age 12 and younger. Parking is free and discounts are offered online.
