Buffalo Grove police cracking down on DUI

Officers from the Buffalo Grove Police Department will be conducting special DUI enforcement saturation patrols the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. The crack down on drunken driving is part of village’s ongoing effort to improve traffic safety, save lives and prevent injuries.

“St. Patrick’s Day has become a big night out for many Americans, particularly young adults. But it is also a very dangerous night out due to impaired drivers. We want to remind everyone who is seeking a little luck of the Irish to be sure and designate their sober driver in advance — before the festivities even begin,” said Sgt. Mike Rodriguez. “Officers will be looking for impaired drivers and if you are driving impaired you will be arrested.”

The special DUI enforcement patrols will begin on Monday, March 12, and run through March 20. Funding is provided by a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation — Department of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
