Elgin’s ‘March into Health’ seeks sponsors for family fitness events
Area families are invited to jump in a pool and scale a climbing wall to kick off a monthlong series of events focused on health and well-being called “March into Health” to take place in March 2013.
The free opportunity for fun and fitness will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 1, at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way.
Hundreds of families will be able to attend a fitness class together and participate in other activities that evening to kick off “March into Health,” taking place during National Nutrition Month.
This year’s “March into Health” events featuring fun and fitness took place throughout the Elgin area. Participants were able to learn about fun ways to lead a healthy lifestyle and were entered for a chance to win several prizes including a Wii Fit Family Gaming System, golf and massage packages, free passes for sports activities and more. Similar prizes will be offered as incentives this year as well.
Businesses that supported the program last year received exposure via press pieces and social media. All March into Health programs were featured in the March/April Gail Borden Library newsletter, which reaches 55,000 households. Several levels of sponsorship opportunities are available this year to businesses and organizations.
