Apply now for hospital’s Future Healthcare Professionals Program

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is offering the Future Healthcare Professionals Program to high school juniors interested in health related (non-physician) careers.

The Future Healthcare Professionals Program offers observation experiences in hospital departments, including nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, radiology, pharmacy, dietary and laboratory.

Additional information includes future job outlook, education required for specific health care professions and projected annual salaries.

The Future Healthcare Professionals Program meets Monday through Friday, June 11-29, eight hours a day, with no vacation or personal days permitted.

Eight students are selected for the program by interview, teacher/counselor recommendation, written essay, past experiences and grade-point average.

Applications are available through local high school guidance counselors and can be downloaded when visiting Good Shepherd’s website, www.advocatehealth.com/gshp/FHCP. The deadline for applications is March 31.

This is an unpaid, multifaceted observation experience open to students in the primary and secondary service area of Good Shepherd Hospital.
