Bristol woman found stabbed and murdered in Zion industrial park
Lake County Coroner officials have ruled the death of a 48-year-old woman found in a Zion manufacturing district as a homicide.
Joy Lee, of Bristol, Wis., had multiple stab wounds to her neck and head when she was discovered on Trumpet Park Drive about 9 p.m. Sunday, said Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey.
A passing motorist alerted police to the woman’s location, but the motorist had no connection with the death, Yancey said.
The cause of death is blunt trauma and stab wounds to her neck, he said, and added that multiple stab wounds were also found on her hands and arms.
Lake County Major Crime Task Force investigators are assisting Zion police with the investigation, Yancey said.
Attempts to reach the Zion Police Department were unsuccessful Tuesday morning and afternoon.
