Elgin man charged with child sexual assault

An Elgin man is in jail on charges of sexual assault of a child younger than 13 years old, according to court documents.

Arturo Arce, 43, of the 1600 block of Mulberry Lane, is charged with sexually assaulting a child he knows multiple times since 2004, court records show. The three charges against Arce are all felonies.

Arce appeared in Kane County bond court Tuesday where bail was set at $500,000. Arce must pay 10 percent of that to be released before his next court date, scheduled for March 28 in St. Charles.

The case is being investigated by the Kane County Advocacy Center.
