National health care good for all of us

All Americans should have access to affordable health care; this is not a luxury, it is a basic need and we need to figure out a way to make it work.

The other day I overheard a conversation in the grocery store where someone complained about how the Affordable Care Act will be kicking in soon and how government was taking over health care; and then in the next breath he expressed how happy he is that he will qualify for Medicare in a year or so.

I wonder why he would think Medicare For All is a bad idea when he’s so happy to join the ranks. A true national health care program will improve outcomes, save money and strengthen our economy. Now is the time.
