Seminar to explain ‘Basics of Guardianship’

Administer Justice, a local nonprofit providing legal, financial, conflict resolution and educational services to low-income individuals, will hold a free “Basics of Guardianship” seminar on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The seminar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the organization’s main office, 1750 Grandstand Place, Elgin. Topics covered in this one-hour presentation will include: guardianship of a Disabled Person and of a minor, including who may serve as a guardian, types of guardianship and the general legal process involved in creating a guardianship.
Attorney Jane Craddock Ryan, a volunteer with Administer Justice, will be presenting. The seminar is free and open to all; however, space is limited and you must RSVP in advance by emailing seminars@administerjustice.org or by calling (847) 844-1100.
Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.
Administer Justice, a faith-based nonprofit legal aid takes a holistic approach to client care providing free civil legal assistance, counseling on money management, debt reduction, and tax rights and responsibilities. The organization, headquartered in Elgin, served over 6,500 individuals in 2012 with the help of hundreds of volunteers who donated over 11,000 hours serving low-income individuals from the Northwest suburbs.
