Student still missing after extensive search

STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The search resumes Monday in Stevens Point for a college student who remains missing despite an extensive weekend search by police and dozens of volunteers.

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student Eric Duffey disappeared early Saturday after leaving a downtown bar. Duffey's parents, from Fitchburg, say their son was celebrating his 21st birthday.

Volunteers helped police scour neighborhoods near downtown Sunday. They knocked on doors and passed out fliers with Duffey's photo. Searchers tromped through snowy backyards, checked outbuildings and looked under decks.

The Stevens Point Journal (http://spjour.nl/wxGHfw ) said police planned to resume a grid search Monday.
