N. Ind. woman dies following nursing home attack
GARY, Ind. — A 77-year-old Gary woman has died days after she was allegedly attacked by another resident at a nursing home where she lived.
The Times of Munster reports Diane Parkison died Sunday, five days after police said a 75-year-old man hit her so hard she fell to the floor at the South Shore Health and Rehabilitation facility.
Gary police Cpl. Gabrielle King says Parkison suffered facial injuries, but the manner of her death remains under investigation.
King says Parkison was taking her daily walk in the facility the morning of March 6 when the man attacked her. She says witnesses told officers the man who attacked Parkison “was a big guy.”
