Guy with pantyhose fetish charged with prank calls

SHIREMANSTOWN, Pa. — Police say a central Pennsylvania man random made phone calls — sometimes more than 400 in a single day — and tried to get women to engage in sexually explicit conversations about pantyhose.

Upper Allen Township police say 43-year-old Rip Alan Swartz turned himself in Tuesday to face harassment charges. Investigators say he placed calls to businesses across the country over the last five years.

Authorities say Swartz would try to get female employees to talk to him, sometimes calling multiple times.

The Shiremanstown man faces charges in Cumberland and Dauphin counties. The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reports he is free on bail on condition he not visit Hooters, Bob Evans, Applebee's or the First National Bank of Marysville.

A phone listing for Swartz could not immediately be located.
