Drunken driving charges in fatal Wisc. moped crash

MADISON, Wis. — A Madison woman is charged with driving drunk and killing a man on a moped.

A criminal complaint says 27-year-old Ekaterina Topolkaraeva (eh-kat-er-EE’-nah toh-pol-kayr-ah-AY’-vah) had alcohol and morphine in her body when she struck and killed 37-year-old Jeffrey Droster of Madison last October.

The State Journal reports police say Topolkaraeva drank champagne and injected heroin before driving on the wrong side of a frontage road in Madison.
