Former Wheeling president behind Papantos
When Wheeling voters go to the polls on April 5th, they will see the name of Mary Papantos as a candidate for village trustee. They will have the opportunity to choose a newcomer who is well suited to represent the people of the village.
I have known Mary Fluder Papantos since her family moved to Wheeling in the mid-1950s, where she has resided ever since. She is a graduate of St. Joseph the Worker School and Wheeling High School. In recent years, she has been a faithful attendee at village board meetings, and has carefully followed the actions of the board.
Through her long daily walks throughout the village, in the company of her dog, she is uncommonly familiar with its streets, neighborhoods, and businesses. Her basic understanding of the community is a great asset.
I believe Mary would bring a fresh perspective to the discussions and decisions of the village board. She has constructive, well-thought-out suggestions for addressing what she believes are important issues confronting the village. She is committed to more open communication with the residents, and to respectful and prompt replies to their concerns.
Her only agenda is to help assure efficient, effective and responsive governance. I intend to vote for Mary Papantos on April 5th. I hope you will do the same.
