Better way needed to select judges

Yesterday a sample of the ballot was printed for readers to approximate the primary election coming up. many of the candidates were judges. How on earth should the average citizen know about all the candidates offered? D. or R. You gave some input into the Supreme Court race but what about the others? It almost forces you to go along the party line for lack of information. That is not a solution. It should be ”May the best man win solution.” It is so overwhelming.
