Village releases minutes from March 1 board meeting
On March 2, Lombard Village President William J. Mueller and Village Clerk Brigitte O'Brien released the minutes from the Village Board of Trustee's March 1 board meeting.
VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
• Proclamation was read by the Village Clerk naming March 4 through March 10 as “Local Government Week.”
• Approved the minutes of the regular Board meeting of February 2, 2012 and February 16, 2012 and special meeting of January 11, 2012 and January 31, 2012.
• Approved Accounts Payable and Village Payroll.
Ordinances Approved With the Waiver of First Reading as Requested
• Plan Commission recommendation 12-07 for property at 1135 N. Garfield for the construction of a salt dome for use by the Village of Lombard.
• Amending the Village Code in regard to alcoholic beverages by granting a beer and wine license to the Thai Sawasdee Restaurant located at 845 E. Roosevelt Rd.
• Amending the Village Code granting a liquor license to Rokki Japanese Cuisine Restaurant, 719 E. Roosevelt Rd.
• Amending the Village Code in regard to Food Handler Licenses which prohibits alcoholic liquor to be consumed upon the premises unless such business has a valid liquor license.
• Ordinance to amend the general penalty provision of the Village Code into compliance with the new requirements adopted by the Illinois Supreme Court.
Other Ordinances on First Reading
• Ordinance establishing a fee for Basic Life Support, non-transport services, for requests that total more than five request calls per calendar year. A fee of $100 per non-transport call for the sixth and each subsequent call per calendar year.
Ordinances Approved on Second Reading
• Boundary Line Agreement with the Village of Glen Ellyn.
• Recommendation from the Transportation and Safety Committee to implement no parking on the east side of the street between 901-905 Ridge Avenue.
Resolutions Approved
• The 2012 DuPage Mayors and Manages Conference Legislative Program.
• Expressing interest to continue to participate in the Suburban Tree Consortium for the purchase of parkway trees.
• Agreement with Town Center for the operation of the French Market at the Hammerschmidt Parking Lot on St. Charles Rd.
• Accepting public improvements at the Buckingham Orchard Subdivison.
Other Matters
Approved the following:
• Award of a contract to John Neri Construction for the east Maple St. Replacement Project in the amount of $261,490.20.
• Request a waiver of bids and authorization to purchase parkway trees from the Suburban Tree Consortium in the amount of $58,000.00.
• Grant Easement and accept public improvements at the Westin Hotel.
• Ratification of an electricity contract for water pumping with Exelon Energy Co. Staff anticipates an annual savings of $35,000.00 to $40,000.00.
• Appointment of Gladys Piper to the Community Relations Committee.
Village Board meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Village Hall Board Room at 255 E. Wilson Ave.
