Arlington Hts. police ‘accredited with excellence’
The Arlington Heights Police Department has been awarded, for its second time, the Accreditation with Excellence Award, given by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, which is one of the top public safety accreditations a police department can receive. The accreditation remains effective for three years.
CALEA’s accreditation process, which is voluntary, involves a detailed assessment of the department’s policies, procedures, management, operations and support services. In addition, the police department conducts a self-assessment and participates in an on-site review by a team of outside CALEA Assessors composed of experienced public safety practitioners.
To receive this Accreditation Award, the police department had to meet an established set of professionally recognized standards, considered benchmarks for today’s public safety agencies. These standards lead to excellence in management and service delivery.
CALEA is the recognized global leader in accreditations and other vital public safety support services. Achieving this award demonstrates the police department’s commitment to professional standards in policy and practice.
