NW Ind. county launches website with land deeds
CROWN POINT, Ind. — A northwest Indiana county is going digital with its land records.
Lake County Recorder Michelle Fajman tells The Times of Munster says it will save time and money for people who want to look land deeds, mortgages, liens, leases, bankruptcy notices and other business records but don’t want to drive to Crown Point to see them.
She says fees for businesses range from $50 to $250 per month. Individuals pay $5.95 to get on the system once and then $1 per page. She says links on the county’s website will guide people to the recorder’s office and information on how to access the property records.
