Bring photos for contest to Wild Ones’ holiday party

Attend this year’s holiday party with Northern Kane County Wild Ones at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail, off Highland Avenue in Elgin.
They will be voting on board members for the 2014 year, having a photo contest and seeing a slideshow of the year in review presented by Jim Cudney.
Bring food to share: a salad, main dish or dessert or anything in between. Bring your own plates, utensils, silverware and napkins. Beverages will be provided.
If you have any milkweed seeds you have collected from your garden, bring them (minus the fluff) to send to Monarch Watch.
The rules for the photo contest rules are as follows: subject of all photos must be native plants, native landscapes or native wildlife found in the U.S. or Canada; no more than four entries per person; photos can be any size, color or black/white; must be mounted and matted with a plain white mat board. Submit your prepared photos to the program committee at the Dec. 5 meeting. Judging by popular vote of attendees and winners chosen and announced at the meeting. All photos become property of Northern Kane Wild Ones to be sold at a silent auction.
