Goodell’s ruling is a positive sign that professional sports are waking up to the fact that sports are not above the law and decent human conduct.
Since when is “hurting opponents the goal of every defense”? The goal of football is for one team to advance the ball and the other to stop them. A runner may be stopped without wanting to hurt a player.
Let’s become a civic society, Legere. Let’s get sports writers who understand decent human values. I think you need a vacation or maybe a new job.
