Obama’s oil policy misses the mark

President Obama and his spokesman, Jay Carney, continue to take credit that we have produced more oil this year than in several years. While this is true, it has nothing to do with Obama’s policies. The reality is this production is due to leases approved years ago by President Bush.

The CEO of the nonpartisan American Petroleum Institute also states that oil production from federal lands, which is the only property Obama controls, is actually down 30 percent because he won’t approve leases. He also states that between the U.S. and Canada, we have enough natural gas and oil so that we would not need any from the Middle East. But Obama won’t approve it to satisfy the environmentalists and his failing green energy agenda.
