Works of Renior, Picasso and Whistler coming to Judson’s Draewell Gallery

Judson University’s Draewell Gallery will host an exhibit featuring prints from famous artists beginning Friday, Feb. 1 through Friday, March 8. There also will be a lecture on Friday, Feb. 15, by Wheaton College Art Historian Dr. Matthew Milliner at 4:30 p.m. in Herrick Chapel, followed by a reception in the gallery at 6:30 p.m.

The exhibit will display a selection of seven prints from the Draewell Print Collection, including three works by Renoir (two lithographs and one etching) and one work each by Toulouse-Lautrec (lithograph), Whistler (etching), Rouault (etching) and Picasso (lithograph).

The collection was donated to the university by Dr. David J and Betty M Draewell in 1991. Later, Art and Design Department Chair Professor G.E. Colpitts named the gallery after the Draewells for this and other contributions they made to the Art and Design program.

The Draewell Gallery, housed in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center, is open to the public Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
