Obama will have my vote in November

You have to worry about a political party whose top contenders for president of this country are: A corporate raider who has hidden millions of dollars in offshore banks; a notorious womanizer once scorned and fined and finally was disenfranchised of his position as speaker of the House by his own party; a religious fanatic who would like to make contraceptives illegal, and an ancient fossil who is ready to speed us back from the 21st century to the 19th.

No wonder the Republican electorate can’t make a clear choice. It’s like asking “what kind of poison do you want to take?”

President Barack Obama was elected by an overwhelming majority because people were tired of having the kind of choices that it seems the Republican Party has seen fit to put forth again this year: flawed men holding their personal desire for power and money over the interests of the public they should be serving.

Obama has never been a corporate raider, and I’m reasonably sure he does not have millions secretly stashed in offshore banks. He doesn’t appear to want any woman other than his own wife, Michelle, he is Christian, but not ostentatiously so, and he is always looking forward. I know that he has not accomplished all that we who voted for him wished that he could do in his first few years in office, but he has made a lot of headway in getting us back to normal.

I like that my daughter, who had been refused insurance due to a pre-existing condition, can now afford to get a doctor’s care and the medicines she needs for her condition. I’m giving our current P\president my vote as I feel that he is clearly leading us the right direction.
