Crash victim identified as Zion woman

A driver killed last week in a Waukegan car crash has been identified as a Zion woman, authorities announced Monday.

Maria Castillo, 31, suffered multiple injuries in the crash, which occurred Thursday morning when her car hit a light pole on Lewis Avenue at Belvidere Road.

A passenger survived. Castillo wasn't wearing her seat belt, police said, and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
